Selena Gomez Inspired

Hey guys! Today’s look is inspired by Selena Gomez at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Showback in 2015. She looked like a VS angel herself wearing her blue eye contacts and jet black smooth curls which I do not have for this look but hey we are focusing on the makeup. She (as always) looked b-e-a-uuuuutiful. This is simply a great example of a soft glam look and I was inspired to show how easy it can be.

Now others may think this is pure full on crazy glam, but I naturally I love to wear a huge wing and smoke it up on my eyes err’day so this in comparison is pretty soft and natural for me..lol..I know.

FACE

{Primer/Foundation: Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue in: Natural 05

(This is a tinted moisturizer and also has a built in primer, it is so light weight and hydrating, I am in love!)

Bare Minerals Bare Pro in: Light Natural 09}

{Concealer: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser in: 130 Buff Beige.}

{Highlighter(s): Yes I used a few highlighters for this look, she just looks so dewy and glowy in this look, therefor I wanted to look dewy and glowy. Think goldenface Jim from the office. I want that. All.on.my.face. b274eceb4e4f85144741a1a8270269d0

1st highlighter put on was: NYX Bright Idea Illuminating Stick in Chardonnay Shimmer.

2nd highlighter put on was: NYX Illuminator in Ritualistic.

3rd yes 3rd highlighter put on was: Ashley Nelson Loose Shadow Powder in: Moondust.

Judge me all you want for layering different highlighters but I love it so…your opinion is a moo-point. (I will love you if you can tell me what tv show I am referencing.}

{Bronzer: Bare Minerals Ready Bronzer in Skinny Dip…..sadly this is being discontinued so I need to find a new bronzer}

EYES

{Brows: Ashley Nelson Studios Brow Gel in: Pamela}

{Shadows: Bare Minerals Wish List Pallette (yes, this was a holiday limited edition pallette, however the colors I used are neutral and would be pretty easy to find in other pallettes.) I used the colors: Merry/Bubbles/Gold Leaf/Granted/Good Spirits in that order.

bareHopefully you can see the colors okay in this picture!! Merry and Bubbles look a little darker in the picture and Granted and Good Spirits look lighter in the picture. Ugh technology.

Step 1:  To start off and highlight the eyes: I put Merry right under my brow and in my inner corner of my eyes to lighten it up. (This next part in the step can be skipped if you would like) I didn’t have enough sparkle from that color for my highlight so I put Bubbles  (a more champagne color) right on top to make it more noticeable.

Step 2: Apply Gold Leaf on the whole lower lid.

Step 3: Apply Granted (medium brown color) on the outer corner of the eyes.

Tip: I wanted to build this color up and I wanted to avoid any of the shades to look muddy so what I did was pat on the color and blend with a clean brush, pat, blend, repeat, pat blend, repeat. This has been a huge life saver for me in the makeup world. Back in the day I would get frustrated by colors not blending the way I wanted them to, this can be a huge factor if you are having this problem.

Step 4: Drag the color Granted into the crease and blend in windshield wiper motions until the colors are blended.

Tip: For this look do not let the darker colors to be any higher than the crease or extend beyond the outer corner of your eyes, this is part of what keeps it a soft glam look –keeping it low and unexaggerated.

Step 5: Apply Good Spirits to the very outer corner on top of Granted and blend.

{Liner: Bare Minerals Loose Shadow in Here Kitty (any dark brown liner can work for this.) Lined thinly on upper lid and in the waterline and a tad bit below smudged and blended. }

{Mascara: Loreal Paris Voluminous Carbon Black —-in my opinion the best mascara…better than everyone’s favorite: Better Than Sex Mascara and a $16 difference}

{False Lashes: Ardell Demi Wispies. Lash Glue: Duo Dark Tone}.

LIPS

{Liner: Wet N’Wild Perfect Pout Gel Lip Liner in Nev- *************ALRIGHT I AM INTERUPPTING THIS POST TO PA-RAISE THIS LIP LINER. IT IS $2 AND IT IS THE BEST LIP LINER I HAVE EVER OWNED. I ALWAYS MADE FUN OF WET N’ WILD BUT I SAW SOMEONE WHO I ADMIRE PRAISING WET N’ WILD AND I AM SO EASILY INFLUENCED BY BEAUTY GURUS THAT I WAS LIKE “YEAH OKAY”. I MEAN EVEN IF IT SUCKS, IT’S $2. OH MY GOSH BUY THEM ALL.***********

Liner: Wet N’ Wild Perfect Pout Gel Liner in Never Petal Down

Bare Minerals Matte Liquid Lipcolor in: Slay

Gloss: Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie in Miss Popular.}

Okay in case you forgot what the look was here is Slaylena Gomez again.

This first picture doesn’t have the gloss, had to take some with gloss and some without.

And yes I am wearing my pink robe with “fancy” (cough cough $3 H&M earrings) to give a pre- VS fashion show vibe.

And tada!!! I feel like my lips were wayyyy brighter than Selena’s but I am okay with that. To tone it down, I would just wear Slay on its own and that would have been not so bright.

What I feel like the key factors to this look are: bronzey skin, falsies paired with a soft warm smokey eye and a pink lip and boom! Selena Gomez from VS Fashion Show!!

Let me know what you think in the comments! Have a great week you guys! Cheers!
